Kathmandu- Ferdinand Marcos Jr famously known as "bongbong" son of the late dictator, is poised to become the next president of the philippines on 30th june , only 36 years after his father was ousted in a historic revolution.

The Marcos victory is a hammer blow to millions of Filipinos who hoped to reverse course after six bloddy years of increasingly authoritarian rule by outgoing president Rodrigo Duterte.

Marcos Jr had more than 30.8 million votes in the unofficial results with more than 97% of the votes tabulated as of tuesday afternoon. His rival , vice president Leni Robredo had 14.7 million votes in election and boxing great Manny Pacquiao famously known as pacman appeared to have third highest vote with 3.5 million votes.
